Apparel Production and Marketing/IE refers to the comprehensive process of creating and promoting clothing and textile products while optimizing production efficiency. It involves designing, sourcing materials, manufacturing, and ensuring quality, combined with strategic marketing to meet consumer demand. Industrial Engineering (IE) in this field focuses on improving production systems, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity through advanced techniques like time studies, workflow optimization, and lean manufacturing. This blend of production and marketing ensures high-quality apparel, efficient operations, and effective market reach.

What will i learn?

  • Understanding the buyer requirement, and communicating them to the specific departments and exhibiting the product to the buyers.
  • Confirming the quality during production as well as ensuring timely delivery of an order.
  • Developing a time and action (TNA) calendar for completing the schedules of various activities like cutting, sewing, finishing, dispatch etc.
  • The WIP (work in progress) and the status of the order have to be monitored by the merchandisers regularly.
  • Coordinating and tracking the sourcing activities and confirming that all the raw materials and accessories are delivered on time.
  • Ascertaining the difficulties related to production and supply of order and dealing with it when they occur.
