Blood banking is the process of collecting, testing, processing, and storing blood for transfusions. It ensures a safe and adequate blood supply for patients in need. Blood banks screen donations for infections and match them to recipients. They play a crucial role in emergency and medical care.

What will i learn?

• CO1: To understand the basic principle of blood banking.
• CO2: Be able to perform blood group systems, including ABO and Rhesus systems.
• CO3: To be able to demonstrate auto mentation technique used in blood bank.
• CO4: Be able to evaluate pre-transfusion testing protocols, compatibility tests, cross-matching procedures, and precautions for blood component infusion.
• CO5: To be able to investigate transfusion reactions.
